|  Today, December 6, in Lviv the church of St.. Peter and Paul (Jesuit Church) was blessed. Festive liturgy was headed by Lviv Metropolitan Igor (Voznyak) in the presence of representatives of various faiths of Ukraine, who also took part in a unity prayer for the Ukrainian army.
Igor (Voznyak) sprinkled the walls of the church with holy water and anointed them by holy peace. Sanctify was timed to the Day of the Army Forces of Ukraine.
At the opening of the Jesuit church there gathered many people of Lviv therefor at the beginning of the liturgy there was throng. Also the celebration was attended by cadets from the Army Academy named after Sagaidachniy and of Lviv Military Lyceum named after Krut Heroes.
Previously, the temple of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul served as the garrison church from 1848 to 1946
- His appointment to be a place of prayer for military personnel have been identified in previous ages - says the temple priest, Fr. Stepan Sus, the chief military chaplain of Archdiocese of Lviv Greek Catholic Church.
As you know, the temple had a book depository of Lviv Scientific Library named after Stefanik. As they noted in the library of the Church of St. Peter and Paul,they removed more than 90% of books to the new Book Storage in.Aviatsiyna street, 1. Some books remained just on the right side of choirs. It has already carried almost two million of books. There are remained 300 thousand books to export, including the unique foreign-language editions.
