|  Lviv city council lawmakers cut the expenses of mayoral office employees to pay wage arrears to teachers and medical staff, ZIK’s Ohlyad dnya program said Feb. 16.
Lawmakers were able to save Hr 12.8 million by cutting expenses of officials for business trips, maintenance, and bonuses. “We have earmarked the money to pay the salaries to teachers and medical staff,” says Yaromyr Smahalsky, Svoboda.
The lawmaker says this is common practice in the European countries.
Lviv Mayor Andrij Sadovyj was outraged by the decision, complaining to the prosecution and auditing department.
